Why ABC Judo Juku?
We are a community dedicated to developing the whole person — physically, mentally, academically, and socially. We measure success by competency: can you actually do it?
We're launching with English Through Judocise — a kinesthetic approach to English built on phonics and penmanship. Students build real, lasting fluency through movement, not memorization.
"The purpose of judo is to perfect the human character and contribute something of worth to the world."
Located in a historic sake brewery on Suo-Oshima island — accessible from Iwakuni and Yanai City via the Oshima Ohashi bridge.
My daughter picked up more English in two months of Judocise than in two years of classroom study. She moves and talks at the same time — and it's sticking.
The combination of judo and phonics is unlike anything I've seen. My son reads differently now. He understands what the letters are doing.
Training here gave my child confidence on the mat and confidence speaking English. I didn't know one program could genuinely do both. This one does.
My kids understand their own progress here. They collect the data themselves, they know what they've earned — and they know exactly why that's true.
